Council Programs & Council Owns
New Listing
of Merged Councils (click here)
Several councils are still in the process of completing the
merging and I will update as soon as possible!
Are your girls looking for something new and exciting?
Have they done all the Try-It's, Badges, and IP's they are interested in and
would like other challenges?
Try a Council Own!
What's a Council Own, you ask?
A Council Own is developed at the Council level and
approved by individual Councils.
They are special interest Try-It's, Badges, and IP's that cover things from
fishing,
butterflies, special Grandparents, Maple Sugaring and much, much more.
How do you find them or develop them??
With the help of many friends and shared resources
from other leaders around the unit
ed States;
I've listed all the ones I've found (so far) which are available in other
Councils.
Please click on the links to find out more about each one! (Working on adding
links as time allows!)
If your troop wants to develop your own Council Own; contact your Council for
required guidelines and requirements.
Many of the below Councils also are willing to help you in your endeavor by
sharing information with you.
If you see a Council Own you're interested in developing that has a
similar
Council Own available elsewhere;
feel free to contact that Council for information!
Note:
All Council's Own IPPs, should meet the current criteria
established by GSUSA.
Council's Own IPPs should be formatted in a similar fashion to those that are in
the "NEW" Interest Project Patch book.
Check with the individual Council to confirm if their Council's Own IPP
meets
these standards
before doing the program with your girls;
ALSO most councils require permission
to work on a Council Own
before you do the work
with your girls
AND many Councils DO NOT share Council Owns.
You need to contact the individual Councils
prior to
working on a Council Own.

All Councils are listed alphabetically by state.
The Council's listing is based on where the Council's Headquarters are located.
The programs within each Council are listed in alphabetical order:
Brownie
Try-its; Junior Badges; Cadette/Senior IPPs; and all other patch programs.
If you are from a Council that is listed below and my list is not correct or
current PLEASE
email me with the
updated information (or if there are links for the requirements and
I do not
have them linked email me as well)
so I can update this site.
I am continuously working on this webpage; as there is a lot of information
to
update and provide - it is a work in progress; please have patience with me! :)
Girl Scouts of USA is currently going through major changes in
Council structure;
there is a realignment in progress that is merging councils
throughout the united States.
Please contact any council if you have questions about their programs.
To find the newest councils please visit the Girl Scouts of
the US website and use
their Council Finder at this link:
